Are Save the Dates Really Necessary?

Weddings are a joyous celebration but the road to the wedding day takes up a lot of time and money, not just for the betrothed couple but for your loved ones too. Weddings, no matter big or small, take a lot of planning for your guests. Sure, it’s “one day” but it’s a day that may require time off from work, travel arrangements need to be considered, and some may need to budget for attire and a wedding gift. Also, your wedding may be a bigger responsibility to some like your best friends who know they’ll be attending pre-wedding events, like a shower or bachelorette weekend, which will require even more time and money. Save the dates are considered a polite heads-up that tells them A) you will be invited to the wedding and B) start planning ahead.
